This modular bookcase made me look. Created by Antonella Di Luca and Ubaldo Righi of MR.LESS & MRS.MORE studio, Citybook storage system has been presented during the Milan Design Week. The piece is made up of multiple house-shaped modules that are linked together via small magnets. Easy to assemble and reassemble, Citybook is a good looking and flexible addition to any room. The bookcase is made from sheet iron, it comes in white and dark gray.

These flat chairs, called Canvas, are the latest creation of Japanese studio YOY. The humor and versatility of this design makes it a winner in any space, big and small. Shoebox apartment dwellers, however, will appreciate the space-saving element of this cool item that doubles as artwork. Hang it on the wall for display or lean it against the wall for extra seating – how cool is that! The frame, made of wood and aluminum, is covered by an elastic fabric, printed to resemble a canvas texture with a drawing of a chair. The piece comes in three varieties – chair, armchair and sofa.
Shelf by Israeli designer Raz Krulfeld is a great addition to a small kitchen. The clever piece allows us to keep our essentials within reach but away from the counter, which is a great space-saving tactic. The shelf is made up of two sections – the higher one is perfect for containers and spices, the lower one holds books, magazines as well as cereal boxes and other bigger items. The rear side of the shelf serves as a magnetic knife holder and also features hooks for utensils. To top it all off – there is LED lighting coming from underneath the shelf. An additional lighting source is never a bad idea…

The Table for Two idea by Daniel Liss is so simple and ingenious, it gives you the ultimate “why haven’t I thought of it” moment. The piece is a desk for two by day and a dining table for six by night. In a cramped urban setting where kitchen, dining room, living room and home office are usually the same room – an item like this is an instant hit. “The users can benefit from the large surface area when the table’s lids are folded down, while allowing for two individual working spaces when folded up into a divider and slid together,” – Daniel explains. Aside from its multifunctional goodness, Table for Two features ample storage, enough for a power source and all your working paraphernalia. 7wonders modular table by Swedish designer Amanda Karsberg is a set of six differently sized tables that can be put into various configurations. Thanks to the shape of these pieces, they fit together intuitively and can be easily rearranged when needed. You can disperse them around and use them as occasional tables and consoles, put them together to create a large desk or a dining table, create a combination of a small desk, a display and a console and more. The variations are multiple. Beautiful idea.

Clipshelf by Michael Hilgers is a lovely concept design, created for ex.t. The piece is an add-on that can be attached to any book shelf or cupboard to provide extra space. It can also be useful as an addition to kitchen cabinets and give easy access to frequently used items without cluttering your counters. Clipshelf comes in many colors, which makes it an accent feature in the room. It is made of powder coated steal and can be fixed on virtually any horizontal and vertical surface.
This funny-face storage has been created by Japanese design studio Iremonya. The line, based on a system of drawers made of the eco-friendly recycled fiber board, is perfect for a kids room. Each drawer has two faces on each side, a smiling face and a crying face. Designers say that this concept symbolizes the fact that life contains both tears and laughter. Cute.

This minimalist bed has been created by Moritz Furmann, Peter Kraft and Jochen Maria Weber o studio Neue Werkstatt. Designers combined clean lines, pure materials and easy to assemble structure. The result – a beautiful and manageable piece of furniture, neutral and adaptable. The plug-in principle allows to put the bed together without the use of tools. And if something changed in your life and you need to have a smaller or bigger bed – simply replace the headboard and footboard. How clever is that?

I love slot-in designs, as you might have noticed. They make assembly of furniture easy, eliminate fiddling with hardware and create playfulness that is hard to beat. This modular storage system by Belgian designer Xavier Coenen, called MoMogul, is a perfect example of this approach. A stackable solution, composed of three modules of different size, interlocks seamlessly to create customizable bookcases, media storage systems, display pieces and more. I love the agility of this idea. You can just as easily take the item apart and redesign it on the spot. Beautiful. The MoMogul shelving system is made from birch plywood and comes in a variety of colors.
