Le-bureau-MeetMyDesk-par-Frederik-Alexander-Werner-design--2

MeetMyDesk is an attractive minimalist piece created by Danish designer Frederic Alexander Werner. I like how ample storage is in this small workspace. The desk features a drawer, paper compartment and a transportable box. The frame is made of solid Danish ash, the surface is covered by durable laminate, and the legs are made of powder coated steel. A beautiful piece for a small home office.

OneLessDesk-Bright-Red-with-Chair-2-Heckler-Design-760x450

Every design project that reduces cordage clutter makes me feel grateful. The OneLess desk from Heckler Design does that while maintaining compact size, which makes it perfect for small apartments. The piece is made of 12-gauge powder coated steel (except for the feet, those are polypropylene so they won’t scratch the floor). It features a rare facing shelf underneath the tabletop that can contain all your cables and cords, freeing the main surface for more elegant objects. The desk comes in a variety of colors.

stackle-by-thinkk-2

This exciting new shelving system is a creation of the Bangkok based design studio THINKK. They took a simple wooden stackable construction and jazzed it up with corrugated metal sheets. These metal elements can be inserted into wooden surfaces via special slits. They can serve as screens, dividers, even additional horizontal shelves, making this modular system very efficient. The modules are available in natural oak or in a variety of colored stains. The perforated sheets come in several colors, allowing you to contrast or compliment any of the wooden bases. Clever.

Fin

loeser_bettels_bed_fin_21

I like the idea of a properly sized bed that can be easily disassembled into pieces and put in the closet. Fin, created by German designers Sofia Löser and Henrik Bettels, is just that – a collapsible bed that can be easily stored and moved. The frame is made from metal tubes, the base – from birch plywood. The plywood pieces follow a specific pattern that ensures the sturdiness of the structure. This design also allows to achieve low material consumption, a happy detail for the eco-conscious.

Gregoire-da-Lafforest-Balka-Console-Table-1

If you are a packrat, you have two choices – fight the habit or make a ritual out of it. The second choice is what this piece of furniture can help you to do. Balka console by French designer Gregoire de Lafforest is a clever and attractive receptacle for all those forgotten items you might need sometime in the future. The top features a shoot through which you simply slide your things out of the way. And an oversized soft pouch is there to help you find them quickly and easily. The piece can also hold keys, loose change, glasses or any other small objects you don’t want lying around the apartment.

TAULA_025

Taula is a perforated multifunctional table, created by Spanish studio Adretcient. The bottom layer of the tabletop has holes for planters. And the top layer consists of removable panels, so you can control the planter-work surface ratio. You can also add various elements to the tabletop in order to adapt it to different situations. Taula is made of birch and can serve as a desk or a dining table.

Rocky bed totally rocks. In many senses than one. This convertible children’s bed from studio jäll & tofta is a product that grows with the child. At the beginning, it serves as a combination of a cradle and a rocking chair. When the baby grows out of the nursery into a bigger kid’s room, simply flip it over to create a 140 cm long bed with a removable bedrail. The space underneath can double as storage (or as an awesome fort for games). Watch the video above to see all the transformations of the piece.

TIAN_Oak_white_web_05

This cool minimalist bike holder has been created by German studio Mikili. I featured this stunner from them some time ago. This particular piece, called TÎAN, is, though not as stealthy on the wall, has its own advantages. It features a storage compartment, something every small entryway can use. The drawer can be opened and closed with a simple push thanks to a tip-on system. In addition, TÎAN looks attractive even when your bike is not hanging on the wall. The piece comes in four color combinations, so you can choose the look that fits you.

Many would agree that the ideal sofa is the one you don’t want to leave. Milan based designer Burak Kocak expanded this idea and created a sofa you don’t need to leave. This modular piece, called Herb, is a clever conglomerate of different components. Each arm is replaced by something useful – storage, adjustable lighting, electrical sources, even planters. You can create a combination that fits your own unique couch-potatoing style.
